Jelly shoes & Jelly tots......

It has to be said that Dougie's kids and our nieces and nephews are quite used to posing for the camera (even if sometimes bribed with sweeties). I'm sure Dougie will chose some photos from the 20 million or so of his 2 little crazies, Daniel & Rachel, to post here, along with an amusing story or two....

I have the pleasure of being Auntie Jude to 6 little crazies, who of course would come top if there was ever a 'World's Greatest Children' competition and I'm not biased at all.

Recently I had the best time babysitting our younger brother John's 2 little girls, Melissa (4) & Grace (2). It was their first time staying over at Auntie Jude's in the big smoke (well, I suppose for 2 little girls from Katesbridge, South Belfast is as urban as it gets) and I'm pleased to say they looked forward to and enjoyed it immensely. Uncle Brian also loved the fun, except of course at 6.30am on Saturday morning when they wanted to 'play'. Being farmer's daughters, I suppose this is quite the norm.

Photographing crazy kids is one of the best parts of my job, and there is nothing more rewarding than capturing a cheeky grin or even a full blown strop!

Much of the time though, due to our own craziness, we mostly get the cheeky grin.

Ciaran & Brigid in Peatlands 18-08-10

Jude and I (my sis and excellent photographer)  has the pleasure of photographing Ciaran & Brigid in Peatlands park yesterday evening.  It was looking grim at 4 o'clock but we're always optimistic.  Well we live in Northern Ireland along with 1.75 million other people hoping for the merest sniff of another hosepipe ban.  True to form it turned out lovely again for us. We've been very lucky this year with our weddings and outdoor shoots.

Ciaran and Brigid were great as you can see from the photos.  What you can't see is the fact that the midges found Ciaran very tasty.  Smile through the pain could have been the title of this blog.  Have to say I like Ciaran because usually the midges find me very tasty and was glad of the break.  Why is it you always start scratching when you talk about midges?

Jude and I are looking forward to their wedding in April.  Midges apart they really got into it and I think you can tell.
